England
Having spent most of my life in England I can attest to the incredible areas and sights that can be seen - from dazzling sunsets at the coast to the designated Dark Sky Discovery Sights where you can see the Milkyway clearly - not to mentioned the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and famous Landmarks that are visited from people the world over.

Portland Sunset
After an afternoon of heavy rainfall, the clouds cleared and the sun peaked through above the horizon. Sun after rainfall is a particular favourite of mine as the colours are blueish to yellow and orange tones.
This is the area of Portland, Dorset and Weymouth. This particular vantage point is reached by hiking up a steep hill from Portland itself, on the way to the lighthouse. If you're into hiking, this is a fantastic walk with great views.

Halnaker Windmill sunset
Halnaker Windmill has been renovated in the last few years - replacing the sails - and it looks fab.
This Windmill is located in Halnaker, near Tangmere on the outskirts of Chichester, West Sussex. You're treated to a short but bracing walk through a tree lined tunnel - it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland 'through the rabbit hole'.
The sunset appeared after the clouds subsided with the strong wind on the hill to reveal a striking, warm sunset worth the wait. If you are in Sussex, it's well worth a visit.

Durdle Door Sunset
The iconic Durdle Door near Lulworth Cove in Dorset. Every time I visit Dorset I get a different mix of weather and images - but it's a real favourite 'goto' haunt for me.
Of all the photos I have taken in Dorset at this wonderful area, this is my favourite - a panorama of a golden sunset in a beautiful location.
Strangely, I was lucky enough to be here when nobody else was on the beach.

Hope Cove Rainy Sunset
A short break in Hope Cove, Devon next to the village of Kingsbridge.
The brooding clouds were hovering for a while creating a thick fogginess overhead. The tide was further out at this time of day so I was able to get further onto the beach and capture the sea swash on a long exposure.

Stonehenge Milkyway
Having wanted to capture this image for a while caused a lot of pre-planning as I was on my way to another destination.
During the earlier months the Milkyway shows its arc across the sky, so waiting for the moment (and hoping the sky remains clear enough) was a tense time! But this is what makes the job more enjoyable when it happens.

Cathedral Ceiling
On a visit to the beautiful Canterbury Cathedral the architecture is so powerful and wondrous it had to be captured.
The light was streaming through feintly from the stained glass windows complementing the texture of the ceiling structures.

Sheets Heath Milkyway
A milky way captured in a place called Sheets Heath in Surrey.
The odds were stacked against me with light pollution from the nearby towns but I was determined to pickup a defined Astrophotography shot right here in the clearing by the trees.
